Black History Month: President Barack Obama
Today we celebrate and honor Barack Obama who served as the 44th president of the United States of America (2009-2017) and the first African American to hold the office. Obama’s incredible charisma, accolades, and his campaign's promise to bring change to the established political system resonated with many Democrats, especially young and minority voters. In his first-term he addressed the global financial crisis and worked to successfully bring the economy back. Not only was he a very generous president but, Obama partially extended the Bush tax cut, in addition to reforming the healthcare industry, which aimed to help millions of Americans in need of healthcare benefits and services. Obama also worked to help our troops overseas, when he made the decision to remove the presence of US military from the Iraqi land. His historic presidential legacy lasted a total of 8 years, with him being in office for 2 terms. We take today to honor and thank Barack Obama for his self-less service, and dedication to trying to make this country the greatest we've ever been.
Happy Black History Month!
