People value making a positive change in the world, and they want to work at a company that reflects that. For employers, this means restructuring your business model to not only focus on the return on investment, but also how you are impacting the communities that you serve. The demand for corporate social responsibility has changed the future of work as we know it. If your company wants to retain and hire the best talent, it’s imperative that you make an active and consistent effort to impact the world today. Employees feel happier coming in to work when they’re able to be themselves and have autonomy over their work, but they’re even happier to work at a company that cares about the world.


There are many ways that your company can be socially and environmentally responsible. You can invest indirectly through local community groups that work to help the people that you serve. This is a great first step towards being socially responsible. You take it a step further by directly investing your efforts and funds into programs that help make the world a better place for everyone. This should be intentional and unique to every business. It will help you to hire and retain a younger and/or more conscious pool of talent.


Making a difference is the future of work because it’s no longer sufficient to simply focus on the bottom line, you should also care about the communities that you are serving. The main thing is to care more about the world and to make an intentional effort to make it a better place.
